I previously said in a thread that I wouldn't get Arc Rise Fantasia, based on the videos and screenshots I had seen. I didn't think the game was bad, it just didn't look up to par. From most of my sources, IGN and Gamekyo, I didn't find trailers of the game but only a few gameplay videos or hands-on demos from TGS. I kinda pushed it to the side a bit after seeing some of the screenshots. Lo and behold I found that Gamespot had a trailer of Arc Rise Fantasia from TGS and it looks amazing! This trailer alone got me on board with the game. From the trailer itself ARF looks a lot like Final Fantasy, in terms of out of this world summons and attacks, and Kingdom Hearts, enemy design and gameplay. Those are two of my favorite games. This game has a lot more going for it beneath the surface, so dig deeper. Here's the trailer so you can see for yourself:http://www.gamespot.com/wii/rpg/arclightfantasy/video/6199087/tgs-2008-arc-rise-fantasia-wii-trailer Arc Rise Fantasia Trailer: THIS SOLD ME ...
Yeah, looks pretty good. If it's any better then Kingdom Hearts, I'm sold.Arc Rise Fantasia Trailer: THIS SOLD ME ...
That trailer is awesome. I wouldn't have count the game out based on the early videos and demos though. Usually RPG demos are set in the beginning of the game and there is little depth to be shown.
Yeah, looks pretty good. If it's any better then Kingdom Hearts, I'm sold.
Ohh god, your gonna measure it by KH standards.... At first glance of the first screenshots I new I was getting the game...

I'm not measuring it but if it has good quality and sounds like it will be as good as Kingdom Hearts was IMO I'm buying it. It doesn't have to be just like Kingdom Hearts but better, just a good RPG.
Looks like Kingdom Hearts mixed with Final fantasy, with a dash of the Tales series

That trailer is amazing. I was doubtful after watching early footage but this trailer sold me the game again.
looks cool, Im going to look into it.
It looks good to me. The only turn off is that it looks like it has the same battle system as the Tales series of games and I hated that battle system. I couldn't even play most of the Tales game for the GC because of it.
Graphics not so great, but as usually with an RPG your gonna look for Story and Gameplay, besides some effects look cool, gonna have to wait to see more of it, but it looks nice.
Looks Horrible, First Part looks like its ripping from Kingdom Hearts....Battle is no where near KH standards.......if anything Sonic Unleashed looks more like Kingdom Hearts.
I didn't know it was a TRPG, now I am fairly interested.

Wii Music, IGN Preview
While we've remained consistently skeptical of Nintendo's stab at the music / rhythm genre, we've also held out hope in the back of our minds that there lay hidden much more to Wii Music than has previously met the eye. Unfortunately, now that we've sunk upward of three hours into the final, boxed copy of the game, we can confidently state that what you see is roughly what you get: an interesting noise-maker sure to set the eight-and-under crowd afire with its brainless play-itself mechanics and simple, but polished presentation, but simultaneously destined to bore and possibly even offend those of us who want to do a little more than shake our controllers about mindlessly so that we might hammer together clunky versions of grandma's favorite songs. We just have to make the decision on our own, based on the objective information we have about the content and gameplay. And if all else fails, we can just rent it before buying it. This game is meant to be accessible to everyone, but it isn't meant to appeal to everyone. Because of that, I think it's hard for previewers (and reviewers later) to make any general recommendations, since it's a new kind of idea that most people don't know if they'll like or not before playing it.

Yeah. If anything I'll rent it but not buy, even if its on sale. Also -- your sig -- ''lets tap''.Honestly, I dont see them keeping that name for the game .. it sounds .. funny :)
well i think this game is gonna suck but it's still going to sell good. i mean ''wii music'' - that's just so casual, it has to sell.
I knew some one would have bad things to say about this game, and I expected them to think it was for kids. I still think it is going to do bad in reviews and it may sell good but no where near what wii fit or wii play sold.
This preview doesn't really surprise me. This gen, IGN's Wii team has been overtly pro-hardcore and anti-casual, in the most generally understood definitions of the terms amongst gamers. And there's nothing really wrong with that. That's the kind of gamers that they are, and they're free to express it. Wii Music doesn't fit the mold of something they'd enjoy. They hail The Conduit as the greatest thing to hit the Wii yet, just because it's a traditional game for the hardcore, even though it's very generic. They hate Wii Music and call it shovelware because it doesn't offer the same kind of explicit challenge that they expect out of games. It makes sense. But because of that obvious bias, a bias that I don't share but many gamers do*, this preview doesn't do much to change my opinion of the game. Watch IGN's gameplay videos and it looks like torture; watch gameplay videos from someone who knows what he's doing and has a real interest in the game, and it looks like a lot of fun. You could make Mario Galaxy look like a terrible game by putting up a gameplay video of the player jumping into a wall fifty times, or you could show someone who's playing it properly to illustrate the game's true potential.*The term ''bias'' is usually thrown around as an entirely negative term on internet forums. I'm not using it negatively here. Everyone has bias, and in the case of giving your opinion about something, it's pointless to try to hide it. I'm not trying to bash anyone who has a bias against a game like Wii Music.... If you really don't like the idea, that's fine. I still suggest giving it a shot, though.

I think that the ign team really still upset over this at e3 to give it a fair preview now i am not big on music games, but i do like that wii music has more freedom and isn't a button masher at the right time, like GH, or RB. theres a bit more freedom to wii music, along with a lot of nintendo classic tunes. its funny 2 years ago when the first showed the video at the e3 everyone was excited on different fourms , now everyones bashing it i have a feeling its all over the e3, the game seems like it maybe fun, just because there no pushing difficultly wii music is getting a bad rep, ya it doesn't seem as hard as GH or RB, and theres no real failing songs, but who wants to get failed at playing music I am sure that there will people that will disagree with me but thats fine.

We NEED Kid Icarus Wii!!!
We totaly need a remake of Kid Icarus Wii! With great graphics and 3D gameplay! It would be so fun. Don't you think?
.....if only....We NEED Kid Icarus Wii!!!
pass.We NEED Kid Icarus Wii!!!
It would be really great, no doubt about it. Lets wait and see what Nintendo dishes out next year. We already know that we're going to have The Conduit, Little King's Story, and Punch-Out!! Wii. I'm pretty content with that.
Meh.Why?Kid Icarus was mediocre. I haven't touched that game in years.I want another Gumshoe.
You know, I'm kinda dissappointed about the Wii line-up situation. Sure there SMG and Zeld TP and FIRE EMBLEM but honestly there is not many games at ALL that intruege my interest. I mean the Gamecube had lotsa titles that were great, but now the Wii has been broadend for more casual audience, hensforth has left alot of more hard-core Nintendo fans to die...:(
Kid Icarus was never good. How he got into Brawl and not Little Mac is weird.

Well, with them making a S%26P and Punch-Out! its possible they will make a Kid Icarus.
HAW! Have you even played kid icarus? I didn't think so.
I would like that, I actually played and enjoyed the NES one.
No man.... just.... no...
Is there ANOTHER Kid Icarus I missed, or are we talking about the NES one? If so, WHY would we want a new one? It could be fun, but I think the main reason we want it, (Not me) is that Nintendo would make it...
I totally agree. I was disappointed in Nintendo's unveiling of Punch Out!! I was hoping much more for a Kid Icarus, Kirby, or DK game. Hopefully we get each of those soon.

Played and beat the original years and years ago on the NES...Awesome lil game and YES, I would like a new one, but based totally on the first game. Nothing too fancy or too different...Keep it simple and make it fun.
And how about a new ice climbers and game and watch game while they're at it. For another bad remake they could make another Punch-Ou... oh yeah never mind,
No, I think Kid Icarus has gone far enough in the game world. It was nice to see the old retro dude in brawl, but I'm afriad he would probably do terrible in a 3D game. Please, OH PLEASE Nintendo, don't screw an old classic up! :(
No, a bad series with a cherub is not a grand idea for a game rebirth.
I'm all for new games but there's other franchises that deserve a new title more
We will make it so that, when there is not enough room on the Wii's internal memory, you will be able to purchase and download Virtual Console and WiiWare software directly from the Shopping Channel to an SD memory card. We would like to deal with this issue utilizing two methods. Since the updates to realize these new structures will require significant revisions to the Wii system, and these changes need to be made by taking care of a variety of different angles, this method will become effective beginning next spring. I can't wait for next Spring if this it true! I'm extremely excited about this. Though it does sound like an incomplete implementation of what I would like: to have everything be able to be accessed directly from the SD card, WiiWare, VC games, Wii Channels, etc..

We have all heard and it's a minor improvement, not much else to say.
It is old, but the solution might be good or bad depending on what this ''simpilar process'' is

Sold my Wii...not bashing...hear me out.
I know people may think I'm bashing, but I just wanted to share my experience with the Wii, from getting it, to playing, to finally selling. I had the Wii a few weeks after Launch, and since then I have only purchased the following:4 Wii motes
Super Smash Bros
Twilight Princess
Wii Play
Super Mario Galaxy
Mind you this is all from late 2006. So here we are, almost 2 years later, and I only purchased 4 games. And I must say, the lineup of games coming just seems like old hat.
On to the online portion...Friend Codes? I mean, i guess they help little kids from getting stalked or whatever. But the point is, the parents really should be controlling how their children access their wireless router, but I won't get into this topic, let's just say that friend codes are pretty weak.I was able to sell the whole bundle for about $350. They are still relatively in demand, so it wasn't hard to sell.Have I sworn off of Nintendo? No way. I still have faith...just not in this console. Now with WiiHD (or whatever it's called,) coming out, will Nintendo change their direction of titles? Meaning, can we expect to see such titles as Bioshock, Assassins Creed, Final Fantasy and other A calibur 3rd party games? Or are we doomed to more Mario games? Please, again, I am not bashing nintendo, the console wasn't for me, and didn't meet my needs. I had fun with Wii Sports like everyone else...but after that I was wanting something more.Sold my Wii...not bashing...hear me out.
I'm sorry about your current financial problems, it seems to be more and more of a concern these days.
Though you may not mean any harm, this may be better served in System Wars
I hope everything works out for you in your next endeavorSold my Wii...not bashing...hear me out.
You seem to have missed out on an awful lot of good games for Wii. I suppose it doesn't matter now, but please check out this list to see everything you missed in the past and this and this thread to see what you'll soon miss.
Sorry that you weren't pleased, but you could've always bought stuff off the Wii Shop Channel, liiiiiiike... Super Mario RPG. Anywho, it was your choice, and if you want to wait for WiiHD to come out, that's fine.

You can't just say you're not bashing and then refer to the Wii as a paperweight that isn't for real gamers, and then mention that you're having more fun with the PS3. You're sounding borderline system wars to me. And that last sentence is almost trolling, imo.
Why do people find it necessary to tell everyone when they sell their wii? We honestly don't care.
It sounds like you just don't like what the wii has to offer. Fair enough. Not everyone is going to enjoy the experiece that the wii brings. From your old wii library it sounds like you prefer to stick with the standard stuff rather than try out new things anyway. If thats true then yeah, xbox360 or ps3 would suit your needs better.
MadWorld, Sin %26 Punishment 2, Punch-Out, Tales of Symphonia 2 and the next Tales of, Fragile, Little King Story, Muramasa, The Conduit, Kizuna, Arc Rise Fantasia, are not enough for you? I think you'll have to rebuy a Wii in 2009.
Eh... To each their own... i love the Wii; I have enough games coming up in the next year or two that will keep the wii entertaining for me. However, if I had my way I would try to own 1 more current gen console;this would just allow for even more options over multiple genres.

Hype topics are accepted but will be deleted as soon as the game has been released.-----------------------------------------------------------------Mii MMOSG by Wintry_Flutist
Introduction - ''Miis are an incredibly clever way to ''socialize'' the Wii, I came up with a kind of MMOSG that uses the Mii system for four main purposes:- Make use of the real Mii potential
- Get Wii owners/users closer
- Organize Wii functions
- Stimulate Wii-DS connectionThe concept is pretty simple, yet quite rich. Imagine a town, in which all Miis can walk freely. You can enter and exit the town whenever you like. The whole purpose is just to walk around, meet Miis, and see what the town can offer to you. So let's go step by step....''Make sure you check out Wintry_Flutist's Mii MMOSG (Massively Multiplayer Online Social Game) thread by clicking here or on the picture.-----------------------------------------------------------------WEBSITES and SOFTWARE for your WiiBy: SonicBooom

USER CREATED SECTION Do you have any ideas about the Wii that you want to share? Do you have a great topic that was lost at sea and are wanting it to be resserected? The User Created Section is designed to show off your articles, reviews, and stories about the Wii. Regulations - Because of space issues I can't accept everything that comes my way. So, in order to be accepted just send me an IM or post in this topic about your thread. Include a link to your thread, I will read it and determine if it has a place on this thread. Im sure I will get competing articles about popular subjects, so I will only accept 1 of each kind. If you want your article to replace another's just make it better! Hype topics are accepted but will be deleted as soon as the game has been released.-----------------------------------------------------------------Mii MMOSG by Wintry_Flutist
