Is De Blob even good?

I haven't played it yet.
And I'm thinking of getting it, but I'm not sure.
Can you guys tell me why and why I shouldn't get it? I don't wanna waste my moneys :)

De Blob is an extremely fun, charming game that you can kick back and relax with. It's a lot of fun to go around town and paint up everything in different colours. Gameplay is perhaps a little limited by the central idea and core mechanic of painting, but none the less De Blob is certainly near the top of my best games played in 2008 list.
I just don't understand the purpose of the game.
To me, from what I've heard in forums, it just sounds like you just paint things the whole time.
I hope I'm wrong.

Well, no matter what you do, paint splatters everywhere, but there are some good platforming elements in there.
I picked up the game yesterday and I've been having a lot of fun with it. Definitely check it out.

Man I'd love to see that series get ported to the Wii.
Yes, it's worth it definitely. I love it, it has a lot of replayability. (sp?)
