IGN: wii's next zelda game

http://wii.ign.com/articles/920/920705p1.html a very interesting article, wat do u think?IGN: wii's next zelda game
+1 vote to no voice actingIGN: wii's next zelda game
Voice acting - just no. Never in a Zelda game do I want voice acting. It'd either end up being west country accents which would remove any sense of seriousness, or over-the-top annoying American accents.
If they do it right (Elder Scrolls, Fallout 3, Fable, God of War) then I see no problem with voice acting. Zelda games feel so... empty sometimes. And when something finally does talk, it's a ''HEY!!'' or a ''buuuh!'' and that crap is inexcusable in games today. Zelda needs to step it up a bit, but Link can not talk, if they have Link talk I'm totally boycotting it.

There NEEDS to be voice acting, BUT NOT FOR LINK!
aye good read.i would like too see voice acting for secondary characters IF they dont skimp on the VO work. theres nothign worse than bad voice actors (well ok there is..bu bad VO work is worse than no VO work imho). obhiously link should remain silent though...goes without saying.full orchestra is a must....no ifs or buts here. theres plenty of disc space to store it all. weve seen how much it added to galaxy and it would have an even bigger impact in a zelda game. if ninty dont have a full orchestral soundtrack then i will go over there, stand outside ninty hq and pick my nose again and again. uve been warned ninty. a new story would eb nice....but i dont want the story to get in the way of the game. the school of thinking for story development in zelda should be the Half life, metroid prime and bioshock school of thinking. the story should serve the games purposes, not the other way around. i do not want big long cutscenes at all.i think different difficulty settings is also a very good idea. there should be a hard mode available from the off but should also offer an amazing experience in easy mode.new controls and new game design + new items built to take advantage of the wii are a must and i would be very dissapointed if there was no motion+ support. basically if just wouldnt make sense to see it on another console or play it on a GC controller then there on the right track. like PH on the DS, this should very much be a wii game.the old design has beenperfected...time to move on.on the visuals...id love to see something that looks more like the artwork ninty generate for zelda...a bit like what ubi are doing with the new POP. something a bit different again. i loved WWs look but theres not much room to build on it (adding more detail would be a step in the wrong direction for WWs style) while at the same time, i dont think the wii si up to the job of really doing a realistic looking zelda justice.
Firstly, the voice acting bit is bullcrap. I for one am capable of reading the written word with my own two eyes. I don't need some embarassing, phoned-in narration to tell me what's going on.Secondly, I really want the next game to be set in Termina (Majora's Mask's setting). I like Hyrule, but Termina was so much more interesting. It was wild and eccentric and strange, like Hyrule's crazy reclusive brother.Thirdly, the idea of a cell-shaded adult Link is interesting. I'd like to see it in a 3D handheld game (maybe on the next Gameboy).Fourthly, one of the big problems with TP was that there weren't many places to explore in the towns. You were lucky to find a house you could go in that didn't have an explicit purpose. This should definitely be fixed in the next game.
Well I don't really know much of Zelda since I never really got to play one of the games and in the only game where I've used Link is in smash, but my friend has the first one for GCN and Wii and she says it's worth it but I never got around to buying it. If this one causes as much hype as the the first one (I think it should) Then I might consider it. The article seemed promising so...
Matt Casamassina is an insult to journalism. I swear, he makes spelling and grammatical errors in every one of his submissions. If he were in any other form of media...well, he wouldn't be because he's horrible at the English language. It's not only insulting to journalism, it's insulting to Video Game journalism for this to be acceptable. How can video games be taken seriously when a supposedly ''professional'' journalist like him gets away with making errors like saying ''the'' twice in a row, or creating run-on sentences, the likes of which compare to that of an 8 year old?
There NEEDS to be voice acting, BUT NOT FOR LINK!
This. I think voice acting so there aren't many reads. But giving it to Link just wouldn't be right because some people just might not like Link's personality with him talking. The various grunts he makes is just the way it should be.

The next Zelda game should have voice acting, period. There is no excuse not to have it.
I like the idea of a hard difficulty setting. TP was pretty easy except for some of the puzzles that were pretty frustrating. I also like the idea of the integration of the motion plus. I don't see why they would have it and not use it. It could really add some depth to the combat, where in past games it was just swing your sword until all the enemies in the room were dead. I'd really like to see the motion plus used for some new items. I'm sure Nintendo would be able to come up with all kinds of innovative ideas. There should be voice acting. Today there is just no excuse to not have it, but Link should remain silent just because its tradition and it would destroy his character.
Meh.I say just make it better than the last zelda game (TP) and I'll be happy.
I don't care about voice acting in LoZ games. Just as long as the voice acting (if it comes) isn't crapified. All I want is a good, challenging game. I hope that in the future one of the next games takes a cue from Majora's Mask. That alway's will be my my favorite LoZ game, well, so far.
I read it. Nothing in there was anything new that I haven't thought about myself. Make a new good wii motion plus control scheme, make it bigger with more sidequests, and make the game harder, specifically the bosses, and we'll have a better game than TP.
yah, im all for the voice acting as long its done WELL, and link cant talk
I agree with everything they said.Vocie acting for everyone except link (and Zelda and ganondorf if they are in the next game) Wii motion plus, is a must. And an epic new story, with harder boss fights. Also don't make it cel shaded and i will be one happy camper
