Would it be better if Sega made a 2D Sonic for the Wii instead of these 3D titles? The best Sonic games were the original Genesis games. IMagine a 2D Sonic with modern Wii graphics; I think it would be awesome. 2D just works better for Sonic if you ask me. The more recent 2D Sonic Rush games for the DS were really good IMO so why can't they do that on the Wii?Also, I've ranted on this in the past... They need to ditch the annoying heavy metal music that makes it sound like they are just trying to be ''cool and hip''. Go back to the type of music that was in the Genesis games; it was catchy and fit the games really well. The crappy music with the crazy guitar riffs reminds me of that Simpson's episode when they introduced Poochy to Itchy and Scratchy and he tried to be ''cutting edge'' with his lingo and rocker attitude; that's how corny the newer sonics are to me! Make sense to anyone else?Would a 2D Sonic Game be better than 3D?
I see sonic has been a hot topic lately. But back on subject, I think developing 3d sonic games like sonic unleashed and the black knight is a good idea as long as it's executed well. But yeah I would approve of a new 2d sonic game, especially from the awesome 2d games I've seen on wii.Would a 2D Sonic Game be better than 3D?
In my opinion, the 2D games were much better. So yes, more 2D, please.
I just remember how excited I was when Nintendo announced they were making a 2D mario game for DS and then it essentially had Mario 64ish graphics. Sonic could do that too; you can have great presentation in the 2D just like in the 3D. Maybe even go the Sonic Rush route and have the Boss battles be semi-3D.
I didlike the 3D game. But I did play and enjoy the old ones.
I really think that some games just dont work on 3-d. Sonic is one of them. Castlevania is another. Mega Man. All have had failed attempts at 3-d. Unfortunatly, too many people now think that graphics and having big 3-d worlds to explore is better then having a 2-d game. Has anyone else played wario shate it???

i love the 2d games the most out of all of his games, but if they actually put some effort into a 3d game, they might actually be ablwe to make a good one at some point. plus in the 2d ones i wasnt forced to play as a buch of characters i dont care about just to finish the game
2D games for some franchises, imo, are better than 3D games. Sonic is one of them. So yes, more 2D sonic. I say they need to go back to Sonic's roots if they want to be successful. Get rid of all the crappy characters and only keep Sonic, Tails, maybe Knuckles, and Dr. Robotnik, all in 2D.

Yes, the 2D games are better. But Sega has shown that they don't understand what made the original Sonic games so good in the first place. The Rush and Advance games aren't nearly as good as the Genesis games. They focused so much on making Sonic fast that they forgot it was a platformer. It's not fun when all you have to do is hold right. So yes, I'd like a 2D Sonic game but I know that Sega still won't do it right.

And the chaos half pipes were really fun with stylus controls.
2D Sonic games are better. I think I had more fun with Sonic 3 %26 Knuckles than any Sonic 3D games.
