I recently read an article on IGN (Boo Hiss) Speculatuing what the next iteration of links travel will be like after miyamoto says the series needs change.Being a diehard Zelda fan, i dismissed most of it, but the question is; do you think that the series and style needs tweakin? Here's the link to the article Does Zelda need to change?
It needs to change to meet up with the current hardware
The Wii does not have it's own version of Zelda, the series has to change to take advantage of that
Every change they've added to Zelda that's not hardware related has failed with the dog being the latest effort to change it up.Does Zelda need to change?

But other than that your right.

The way Zelda has been recently is fine, though I can see that there will be tweaks to improve it.
What would be cool if the new Zelda game had a storyline that linked other Zelda games together, like explaining how Hyrule got flooded underwater in WW or something...
I think it needs more than just a tweak. I liked TP to some degree, but I felt like I'd played it before. And that made it feel repetitive and killed a lot of the atmoshpere for me.
it really need to change, maybe evolve you know like new element bigger story or like jason said make it run on par with the wii hardware take advantage like mario galaxy, MP3 and brawl and MKWii optimized the wii, zelda has to do the same bring killer visuals like the others and stroy, inovate to say the leastbut if you mean change as in modernize it or start taking away what make zelda unique then you need to back up cuz your about to go off the edge lol
Not another one of these threads
I don't have any problem with this discussion
I think it's a good subject to talk abuotBut they become havens for stupid arguments
Usually instigated by a certain user who will not be named
I wish we could talk about this stuff without starting an immature argument
But apparantly that is beyond a few users on this website
Anyway, on the point
I don't think the core formula should change
I think they should do what they always do
I think they should throw something in to make it fresh and feel like a new experience
But at it's heart I think it is nearly perfect, and that should stay the same
New features that take advantage of new hardware should be a no-brainer
I just don't think the core gameplay should change so much that it is not recognizable
That's what makes a Zelda game a Zelda game, and not just any other adventure game
Yes, the gameplay needs to change a bit. Twilight Princess was amazing but I don't want to play Ocarina 3.0 next time around. It's been done. They need to do for Zelda what Galaxy did for Mario.
The series is fine the way that it is. But if they want a new twist, have Zelda playable under certain moments %26 conditions, or use some of the characters from Twilight Princess %26 make a game that has a Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy feel to it.
I dont think it needs to completely change, it just needs some tweaking. I would love to see something along the lines of majora's mask or link's awakening again....
I had an idea for what i thought would be a cool storyline that they could bring into Zelda. I'm not sure if its any good but you can decide that for yourself. I thought in the next game they should bring back the land of Termina and have link travel between there and Hyrule. maybe they could bring in some new lands that he could travel between as well. it would have the link from Oot and MM and he would be either between the ages of young and adult link or just be adult link. Also maybe he would fianally find naviGanon has always been the enemy and that is starting to get kinda old. They shouldn't get rid of him but they should change things up. Ganon should be the villain to start with but during the middle or end of the game their should be something bigger then him. Also I always kinda liked the idea of Ganon getting Majora's Mask.In the new game they should expand on the idea of the Fierce Deity. I thought he would make an excellent new enemy. maybe the Fierce deity was a being that existed before Hyrule and maybe even before the goddesses (but probably not). Anyway This was an evil being of great power (the power link got from the mask was just the tip of the iceberg. He defeated the giants and took over Termania and the other lands with Majora as one of his minions. Then the goddesses come and manage to defeat him and seal him away and intrusted his prison (the mask) to the giants. or he could be sealed in multiple things and the different parts given to the Deity's of each land. I thought maybe Hyrule exist between the lands and the sacred realm and was created either after the battle with the Fierce deity or during. If during it could of bin made as a safe haven for the people of the land or they could have made it as a barrier to help protect the sacred realm from evil beings of the lands.this would all be prestory stuff that would be discovered though out the gameI will talk about the game story in the next post
total revamp? nono change? nothe core of the zelda has always been strong, but voice acting (probably not for link) and a more expanded Hyrule (or other location) would please me
Ganon would be imprisoned at the beginning of the game for attacking Zelda. or the begging of the game would be like other Zelda games in which he captures Zelda and you go through a few dungeons and then beat him and since he doesn't have the triforce yet in this time-line, he can be easily imprisoned. meanwhile in the lands people who are loyal to the fierce deity ressurect majora's mask who then comes into hyrule and frees ganon and recruits him to help take over and free firce deity. together they are able to break into the temple of ime and the sacred realm. they kill the sages causing them to become spirit like as they were in tp. ganon touches the triforce and it splits into three again ganon and majora leave the temple in ruins at some point in the story majora's mask leaves the person he took over and combines with ganon. this takes place over the different lands and eventually they are defeated but not before the fierce deity is released. at the end of the game link is able to defeat him and seal him away. possibly between realms cutting off travel between them. ganon is then banished to the twilight realm.so i don't know this is a rough sketch of my idea. you can decide what you think.P.S I apologizes for the length, bad grammar, runon and fragment sentences of this post
Its no secret that Zelda is going to change. They've been talking about it since TP released. Miyamoto and Eonuma both said it was the last Zelda of its kind. I've enjoyed all the Zelda games so far, and I see no reason why the next should be any less enjoyable, regardless of the changes it will undergo. I've got faith in Nintendo, they haven't dissapointed me since the N64, they know what they're doing.
