Annoying warning noise on Mario Kart Wii

Can anyone tell me if i can turn off the noise that comes from the remote. It happens on Kart when something is coming to attack you from the back. I find it an awful noise and want to silence it.Annoying warning noise on Mario Kart Wii

that little speaker is loud for its size. it has scared the crap out of me on numerous occasions.
