We've had Mario, Smash Bros, Zelda, but where are the original titles that are going to carry Nintendo through the next 20 years?. Are we going to get endless versions of Mario and Zelda and nothing else of worth from Nintendo?. 360 and PS3 just got Dead Space, a new franchise, a new AAA franchise. PS3 got LBP, yet again it's a new franchise of AAA quality. Left 4 dead is a few weeks away, yet another new franchise that looks excellent. All Nintendo churns out are old franchises, safe games that we've been playing since the NES days. Nintendo try and do something new like Wii music and it fails horribly scoring 5/10 on IGN. Nintendo are good at recycling games, but when it comes to making fresh new original IP's that are top quality they can't produce the goods.I've been playing the same Nintendo games since I owned a SNES in 1990, it's time for Nintendo to stop being lazy, scared to take risks, it's time for them to make original IP's that rival Mario and Zelda. Wii fit and Wii music just don't cut it.Ok so where are the original AAA games N ...
Agree with you. They just got fallout 3, fable 2 and far cry 2. And us ? Wii music...
Ok so where are the original AAA games N ...
Nintendo has been doing this for years. And it works. So why would they stop.
You've been gaming since 1990? Then you should know Nintendo has many franchises other than Mario and Zelda and that they're still making more. The games mentioned are also all from different companies.. Nintendo can only do so much at once.
World of Goo -- Boom!
I want a new game (not Wii play/cook/steal/dance). they get all the great games, and we are getting GC remakes soon, yaaaaaaay!
Isn't one of the main reasons people buy nintendo is because it has:MetroidMarioZeldaWarioWhatever the f else they have.I'm mainly a PC gamer but I like my Wii when there is a good game out for it
I expect one or two more absolute smash hits by 2010, that's about it.
I can't believe they aren't doing RE5 on the wii booo
No More Heroes says hi.Face it, the highest scoring games this gen have been GTA4, SMG, Halo 3 and MGS4.There have been very few real new IPs that can contend with sequels both review-wise and most importantly to the companies, sales-wise. With the Wii's capabilities, it's a shame to see devs not stepping up to the plate when it comes to new ideas, but the risk of not being able to launch a brand is sometimes what keeps them from trying in the first place. Also, I find it ironic that you're only listing games made by outside companies, some of which are on multiple platforms. Why are you criticizing Nintendo for not making more new games in-house and not the competition too?
TC Is bias: Confirmed.Every game you listed for other consoles except LBP were Third Party games.Yet you only seem to be counting First Party games for Nintendo.Where's the love for NMH?
Where's the love for Zack And Wiki, De Blob, Boom Blox?
And coming soon: Fragile, Arc Rise Fantasia, Mad World, The Conduit.Your arguement falls apart. That said, I would take a new Zelda game over any of them any day :)
You use a bunch of 3rd and 2nd party games, Nintendo has Monolith working on an RPG and Hudson working on a horror title. When it comes to 3rd parties, Nintendo can't force 3rd parties to bring over new IP's. But we got the Conduit, No More Heroes De Blob etc. The holidays for this year is pretty bare but last year was solid and next year should be strong as well.

like ive said before. nintendo's holding their own as best they can. they have a new business plan, so the titles that YOU are looking for are going to be fewer and further between. but if ur still looking for more nintendo franchises...reminder: Nintendo's Japanese and LA conference was at the beginning of this month. otherwise. put up with the third party. also, u mentioned 360 and ps3 titles... play them. im enjoying dead space.
If you want new third party franchises then look to NMH and Da Blob. Also Lost Winds can be included. Possibly World of Goo could become a franchise. All 4 of these have great possibilities. Yes Lost Winds is currently Wii-Ware, but it's my understanding that the sequel won't be.

And the 360/PS3 have had liek, 2 new AAAfranchises between them, so I was just going down a peg to even it up :P

I wouldn't mind all these same sequels if they had better online modes. If Smash Bros. had a decent online system, maybe with chat rooms and whatnot, I could play that for a long time.
