Wii's Next Zelda? IGN's thoughts

Here's a great article with IGN editor Matt Casamassina specifying what should be in the next console Zelda. It's things we've all heard before, but it's very interesting at the same time. If this has been posted previously: sorry. Discuss!Wii's Next Zelda? IGN's thoughts
It is much easier and oftentimes more fruitful to go with a highly stylized graphic makeup like that in Wind Waker, with its colorful worlds and beautifully animated cartoon characters. That all being said, we'd wager that the majority of die-hard Zelda fans would still prefer that the next Zelda retain the visual style established by Twilight Princess, even if it is easier to spot graphic blemishes in an ultra-realistic game world.
No cel-shaded graphics?Sometimes I feel as if im the only one that preferred them over twilight princess's graphics.:|And Awesome. Wii's Next Zelda? IGN's thoughts

The cell shaded graphics just had a really great, ledgendary feel to it. I loved Twilight Princess, but I prefer wind waker. I hope they ''wii-make'' it. Oh, but anyway that IGN article. Yeah, that was really great! I really enjoyed it. I hope nintendo takes some of those suggestions to heart.
i totally agree with different storyline. Zelda is one game that's epic enough to deserve a compelling storyline. But not sure about voice acting tho. I think it might be bad, but as long as they keep Link a mute who can only grunt, I guess it may work.

As long as the voice acting is better than Super Mario Sunshine's, I'll be happy.

I also enjoyed the cel-shaded Wind Waker graphics more than Twilight Princess's.
They should use the wii balance board to move around in the game this would free up the remote and nunchuck to use wii motion plus fighting mechanic like in the article above if they combined these two things they would have something that would set a precedence for all future adventure games and first person shooters something so unbelievably awesome it would make Zelda fans everywhere weep with joy, but that's just my opinion.

Somebody already posted this before, but anywayVoice acting isn't such a bad idea as long as it is better than the CDi ones, Link should never talk.
wild card ya u could use the nunchuck analog control but they could also make the game the exact same way they've been doing it and it will just fell uninspired and lackluster if they used the balance board witch allot of wii owners already own not only would they make more money shipping a few more balance board units but also make the game much more immersive and free the analog stick up o be used for other purposes since the wii is slightly lacking in the button department.

However I get the feeling alot of people ask for change just for the sake of change. Me personally, I think they should keep the basic cores of the franchise and add a few things. Voice acting would go a long way in shutting people up so add that, Wii motion+ could add new gameplay oppurtunities in and out of combat. I liked how Twilight Princess was more story oriented than previous titles, of course that comes at the price of making it more of a linear experience. However that can be combatted by adding more side quest and things to do in the overworld and towns.

Okay I have a theory about the next Zelda game that I'll post in this thread and in aawii's, anyway I was looking at some of the proposed timelines for the game and also wondering what the next Zelda game could be about, when I thought of Shigeru Miyamoto saying that the next Zelda game in development would be different here's the paraphrase from IGN: ''Miyamoto offered those words at E3 2008, where he also confirmed that a new Wii Legend of Zelda game is in development by key members of the Twilight Princess and Phantom Hourglass teams. This new title is poised to be fundamentally different from its predecessors for a couple key reasons. First, Nintendo is obviously aware that the series needs a new hook or two -- even if Twilight Princess remains, in our humble opinion, one of the best adventure games of the generation, it lacks a certain freshness, largely because it adheres to the age-old Zelda formula. ''http://wii.ign.com/articles/920/920705p1.htmlSo I started thinking about ways to make the series different, you know like the usual: new villain, VO actors, darker story, etc. Then one name came to mind when I was listening to a theory on the chronology, and that name was Gustav.I'm starting to think that the major new hook will be that the next Zelda might be about the one hero of hyrule that predates Link, the Hero of Man, aka Gustav, and really I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo took this route. This would also lead to a new villain because whoever Gustav had as a main antagonist was before Ganondorf.
